Pati – The Break Cat and Hav – The Break Dog · Mac (App Store and direct download) and Windows (Microsoft Store and direct download) · Last updated: 17 October 2026

Pati and Hav are break reminder apps. They run entirely on your computer. This policy covers every version of both apps.

We collect nothing

The apps have no accounts, no sign-in, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking. They send no data to us or to anyone else. The only time the App Store and Microsoft Store versions go online is for optional in-app purchases, which go entirely through Apple or Microsoft (see Purchases).

What stays on your computer

The following is stored only on your computer, in the app's own files, and never leaves it. We cannot see it.

Calls and presentations (meeting shield)

When a break is due and "Wait during calls and presentations" is on, the app checks only whether any app is currently using a camera or microphone (the Mac App Store version checks only the microphone, because the App Store sandbox does not allow checking the camera), and whether a presentation (Keynote or PowerPoint on Mac; presentation or full-screen mode reported by Windows) fills a screen. It then waits and starts the break about 30 seconds after the call or presentation ends. It never captures sound or video, never reads window titles or meeting names, asks for no camera, microphone or screen recording permission, and stores nothing about it. You can turn this off in settings.

Heads-up before a break

About 60 seconds before a break, a small window with your pet appears at the edge of the screen. To choose where it appears, the app only checks which screen the pointer is on at that moment; this is not stored. If the menu bar icon (Mac) or tray icon (Windows) is hidden, a small countdown appears near it; to decide this the app only checks whether its own icon is visible. You can turn the heads-up off in settings.

Keyboard, mouse and screen

The apps never read, record, store or send what you type, what you click or what is on your screen. They take no screenshots and ask for no Accessibility, screen recording, camera, microphone or location access. During a break or the play lock, the keys you press and the mouse movements you make on the app's own screen are used only for your pet's reaction in that moment and to let you leave a break (Esc or Space, three times); they are never written anywhere.

Postcards

The apps can turn a moment into a postcard image (your pet's scene, its name, the date, today's break count and a short note, such as how many times your pet caught the laser or toy in that break). It is drawn on your computer from the app's own artwork; it is not a screenshot. It goes only where you send it with Share, Save or Copy; the apps never upload it anywhere. The temporary copy made for sharing is deleted with the next postcard, or when the app quits or opens again.

Shortcuts, Siri and Spotlight (Mac) · Jump list (Windows)

On Mac, the apps offer a few actions in the Shortcuts app, in Siri and in Spotlight: take a break now, pause, resume, lock with Pati or Hav, time until the next break and today's break count. On Windows, right-clicking the app on the taskbar or in Start offers take a break now, pause for 30 minutes and lock with Pati or Hav. These actions do exactly what the buttons in the app's window do and run only when you start them (or in an automation you set up yourself). They store nothing new and send nothing. If you use Siri, Apple handles your voice request; the app only receives the action to run.

Play lock ("Lock with Pati" / "Lock with Hav")

The optional play lock covers the screen with your pet until you unlock it. It is not a real system lock: your session stays signed in. While it is on, switching apps is temporarily blocked (Mac: ⌘Tab, Dock, menu bar and Force Quit via standard macOS options; Windows: the Windows key, Alt+Tab and Alt+F4 via a temporary keyboard hook that looks only at those keys, records nothing and is removed when the lock ends).

To unlock on macOS, you touch the Touch ID symbol shown inside the play-lock scene; macOS itself checks your fingerprint (LocalAuthentication), and "Unlock with password" opens macOS's own password window. On Windows, Windows asks for your PIN, fingerprint, face or password through Windows Hello or its own sign-in screen. The app never sees them; it only learns whether unlocking succeeded.

Live desktop

When "Live desktop" is on, the app draws your pet in its own window behind the desktop icons. It does not read, copy or change your wallpaper image, and clicks pass through to the desktop. When you turn it off, your own wallpaper is shown again.

Scene music and sounds

The quiet background music in break and play-lock scenes and the pet sounds come from files inside the app and are played locally. Nothing is streamed or downloaded. The speaker icon in the top-right corner of the scene turns the music off or on; that choice is saved with your settings.

Language, region and date

To show holiday guests (special-day cats and dogs) on the right days and in the right countries, the apps read the date, language and region set on your computer. This information is used only on your computer and is not stored.

System settings

Open at login: when it is on, macOS or Windows starts the app when you sign in, only for your user account. On Mac it is off until you choose it (for example in the first welcome screen); on Windows it is on after installation. You can turn it off in the app's settings, in macOS System Settings > General > Login Items, or in Windows Settings > Apps > Startup. The apps change no other system setting.

The ⓘ button (direct-download versions only): it reads your computer's display-sleep and password-after-sleep settings with the system's own tools (Mac: macOS tools; Windows: powercfg) and only shows them to you. Nothing is stored. The App Store and Microsoft Store versions do not run these tools.

Purchases (App Store and Microsoft Store versions)

The App Store and Microsoft Store versions offer optional extra cat and dog packs as one-time in-app purchases; three pets and the special-day guests are always free. Purchases are made entirely through Apple or Microsoft with your own account; your payment details never reach the app or us. The app learns from the store only the pack prices and which packs you own, and keeps that list on your computer so the right pets are available offline. Restoring purchases asks the store again. Apple's or Microsoft's privacy policy applies to the purchase and payment. The direct-download versions contain no purchases.

Feedback

"Send feedback" opens your own email app with a message addressed to thebreakpet@gmail.com. The message contains the app version, your macOS or Windows version and the app language. Nothing is sent unless you press Send. Emails you send us are used only to reply to you and to improve the apps.

How to delete your data

Mac: quit the app and move it from the Applications folder to the Trash. To also remove your settings, break counts, names and looks, run this in Terminal (the app also shows the exact command for your copy under Settings > "Privacy and data use…"):

Pati: defaults delete com.canakarsu.pati; rm -f ~/Library/Application\ Support/com.canakarsu.pati/names.json ~/Library/Application\ Support/com.canakarsu.pati/appearance.json

Hav: defaults delete com.canakarsu.hav; rm -f ~/Library/Application\ Support/com.canakarsu.hav/names.json ~/Library/Application\ Support/com.canakarsu.hav/appearance.json

The App Store version keeps all of this inside the app's own container. After removing the app, deleting that folder removes everything: rm -rf ~/Library/Containers/com.canakarsu.pati (Hav: rm -rf ~/Library/Containers/com.canakarsu.hav).

Windows: uninstall the app in Windows Settings > Apps > Installed apps. For the Microsoft Store version this also removes your settings, names and looks. For the direct-download version, you can also delete the folder %LOCALAPPDATA%\Pati or %LOCALAPPDATA%\Hav.

Children

The apps do not collect personal information from anyone, including children.

Your rights

We respect your rights under the GDPR and Türkiye's KVKK (Law No. 6698) to access, correct and delete your data. Because the apps send nothing to us, we hold no records about you; you can delete the data on your computer at any time as described above.

Changes

If this policy changes, the updated version will be published at this address and in the apps. If the apps ever start collecting data, this will be clearly announced in advance and your consent will be asked where required.

Görüşmeler ve sunumlar (görüşme kalkanı)

Moladan önce haber

Moladan yaklaşık 60 saniye önce ekranın kenarında evcil hayvanının olduğu küçük bir pencere belirir. Nerede görüneceğini seçmek için uygulama yalnızca imlecin o an hangi ekranda olduğuna bakar; bu bilgi saklanmaz. Menü çubuğu simgesi (Mac) ya da tepsi simgesi (Windows) gizli kalmışsa yakınında küçük bir geri sayım belirir; bunun için uygulama yalnızca kendi simgesinin görünüp görünmediğine bakar. Bu haberi ayarlardan kapatabilirsin.

Klavye, fare ve ekran

Uygulamalar yazdıklarını, tıkladıklarını ya da ekranındakileri okumaz, kaydetmez, saklamaz ve göndermez. Ekran görüntüsü almaz; Erişilebilirlik, ekran kaydı, kamera, mikrofon ya da konum izni istemez. Mola ya da oyun kilidi sırasında uygulamanın kendi ekranında bastığın tuşlar ve fare hareketleri yalnızca evcil hayvanının o anki tepkisi ve moladan çıkabilmen (üç kez Esc ya da boşluk) için kullanılır; hiçbir yere yazılmaz.

Kartpostallar

Uygulamalar bir anı kartpostal görseline dönüştürebilir (Pati'nin ya da Hav'ın sahnesi, adı, tarih, bugünkü mola sayın ve kısa bir not, ör. o molada lazeri ya da oyuncağı kaç kez yakaladığı). Görsel bilgisayarında, uygulamanın kendi çizimiyle oluşturulur; ekran görüntüsü değildir. Yalnızca Paylaş, Kaydet ya da Kopyala ile senin gönderdiğin yere gider; uygulamalar onu hiçbir yere yüklemez. Paylaşmak için oluşturulan geçici kopya bir sonraki kartpostalda ya da uygulama kapanırken veya yeniden açılırken silinir.

Kısayollar, Siri ve Spotlight (Mac) · Atlama listesi (Windows)

Mac'te uygulamalar Kısayollar uygulamasında, Siri'de ve Spotlight'ta birkaç eylem sunar: şimdi mola ver, duraklat, devam et, Pati ya da Hav ile kilitle, molaya kalan süre ve bugünkü mola sayısı. Windows'ta görev çubuğunda ya da Başlat'ta uygulamaya sağ tıklayınca şimdi mola ver, 30 dakika duraklat ve Pati ya da Hav ile kilitle görevleri çıkar. Bu eylemler uygulamanın penceresindeki düğmelerle aynı işi yapar ve yalnızca sen başlattığında (ya da kendi kurduğun bir otomasyonda) çalışır. Yeni bir şey saklamaz, hiçbir şey göndermezler. Siri'yi kullanırsan sesli isteğini Apple işler; uygulamaya yalnızca çalıştırılacak eylem gelir.

Oyun kilidi ("Pati ile kilitle" / "Hav ile kilitle")

İsteğe bağlı oyun kilidi, sen açana kadar ekranı evcil hayvanınla kaplar. Gerçek bir sistem kilidi değildir: oturumun açık kalır. Açıkken uygulamalar arası geçiş geçici olarak engellenir (Mac: ⌘Tab, Dock, menü çubuğu ve Zorla Çık, macOS'un standart seçenekleriyle; Windows: Windows tuşu, Alt+Tab ve Alt+F4, yalnızca bu tuşlara bakan, hiçbir şey kaydetmeyen ve kilit bitince kaldırılan geçici bir klavye kancasıyla).

Mac'te kilidi açarken oyun kilidi sahnesinin içinde görünen Touch ID simgesine dokunursun; parmak izini macOS'un kendisi doğrular (LocalAuthentication), "Şifreyle aç" ise macOS'un kendi şifre penceresini açar. Windows'ta PIN'ini, parmak izini, yüzünü ya da şifreni Windows Hello ya da Windows'un kendi ekranı sorar. Uygulama bunları görmez; yalnızca kilidin açılıp açılmadığını öğrenir.

Canlı masaüstü

"Canlı masaüstü" açıkken uygulama evcil hayvanını masaüstü simgelerinin arkasındaki kendi penceresinde çizer. Duvar kâğıdını okumaz, kopyalamaz ya da değiştirmez; tıklamalar masaüstüne geçer. Kapatınca kendi duvar kâğıdın yine görünür.

Sahne müziği ve sesler

Mola ve oyun kilidi sahnelerindeki kısık arka plan müziği ve evcil hayvan sesleri uygulamanın içindeki dosyalardan gelir ve bilgisayarında çalınır. Hiçbir şey internetten akıtılmaz ya da indirilmez. Sahnenin sağ üst köşesindeki hoparlör simgesi müziği kapatır ya da açar; bu seçim ayarlarınla birlikte saklanır.

Dil, bölge ve tarih

Özel gün konuklarını (özel gün kedileri ve köpekleri) doğru günde ve doğru ülkede göstermek için uygulamalar bilgisayarında ayarlı tarihi, dili ve bölgeyi okur. Bu bilgiler yalnızca bilgisayarında kullanılır ve saklanmaz.

Sistem ayarları

Oturum açılışında başlat: açıkken macOS ya da Windows, oturum açtığında uygulamayı yalnızca senin kullanıcı hesabın için başlatır. Mac'te sen seçene kadar (örneğin ilk karşılama ekranında) kapalıdır; Windows'ta kurulumdan sonra açık gelir. Uygulamanın ayarlarından, macOS Sistem Ayarları > Genel > Giriş Öğeleri bölümünden ya da Windows Ayarları > Uygulamalar > Başlangıç bölümünden kapatabilirsin. Uygulamalar bunun dışında hiçbir sistem ayarını değiştirmez.

ⓘ düğmesi (yalnızca doğrudan indirilen sürümler): bilgisayarının ekran kapanma ve uykudan sonra şifre isteme ayarlarını sistemin kendi araçlarıyla (Mac: macOS araçları; Windows: powercfg) okuyup yalnızca sana gösterir. Hiçbir şey saklanmaz. App Store ve Microsoft Store sürümleri bu araçları çalıştırmaz.

Satın alımlar (App Store ve Microsoft Store sürümleri)

App Store ve Microsoft Store sürümleri ek kedi ve köpek paketlerini isteğe bağlı, tek seferlik uygulama içi satın alma olarak sunar; üç evcil hayvan ve özel gün misafirleri her zaman ücretsizdir. Satın alımlar tamamen Apple ya da Microsoft üzerinden, kendi hesabınla yapılır; ödeme bilgilerin uygulamaya ya da bize ulaşmaz. Uygulama mağazadan yalnızca paket fiyatlarını ve hangi paketlerin sende olduğunu öğrenir ve çevrimdışıyken de doğru evcil hayvanlar açık olsun diye bu listeyi bilgisayarında tutar. Satın alımları geri yüklemek mağazaya yeniden sorar. Satın alma ve ödeme sırasında Apple'ın ya da Microsoft'un gizlilik politikası geçerlidir. Doğrudan indirilen sürümlerde satın alma yoktur.

Verilerini silmek

Mac: uygulamayı kapatıp Programlar klasöründen çöpe at. Ayarlarını, mola sayılarını, adları ve görünüşleri de silmek istersen Terminal'de şunu çalıştır (uygulama senin kopyan için tam komutu Ayarlar > "Gizlilik ve veri kullanımı…" penceresinde de gösterir):

App Store sürümü bunların hepsini uygulamanın kendi kabında tutar. Uygulamayı sildikten sonra bu klasörü silmek her şeyi kaldırır: rm -rf ~/Library/Containers/com.canakarsu.pati (Hav: rm -rf ~/Library/Containers/com.canakarsu.hav).

Uygulamalar çocuklar dahil hiç kimseden kişisel bilgi toplamaz.

KVKK (6698 sayılı Kanun) ve GDPR kapsamındaki bilgi alma, düzeltme ve silme haklarına saygı duyulur. Uygulamalar bize hiçbir şey göndermediği için elimizde seninle ilgili bir kayıt yoktur; bilgisayarındaki verileri yukarıdaki gibi istediğin zaman silebilirsin.

Değişiklikler

Bu politika değişirse güncel hali bu adreste ve uygulamalarda yayımlanır. Uygulamalar ileride veri toplamaya başlarsa bu önceden açıkça bildirilir ve gerektiğinde iznin istenir.
